cubes, circles and sloping surfaces define the new ilbagnoalessi design by laufen.
the ilbagnoalessi family by laufen is growing. hot on the heels of the great success of the bathroom designed by the italian design firm, alessi, ilbagnoalessi has now been followed by dot, another complete bathroom in the alessi style. this is the brainchild of the dutch architect, wiel arets, who has come up with an entirely new interpretation of the bathroom, a sort of soul mate to the first ilbagnoalessi which, henceforth, having been the first of its kind, will be known as one. the ilbagnoalessi dot is the more geometric variant of the alessi bathroom - it takes its own place beside the romantically curvaceous, classical ilbagnoalessi one. the name dot derives from the round, dotlike recess, which adorns nearly every piece of furniture and ceramic in the range. this dot is a functional characteristic, a sort of dot on the "i" in this unusual bathroom. the new bathroom range makes just as high a demand on production and development as does the first alessi range and was developed in close co-ordination with the development engineers of laufen bathrooms, the swiss bathroom specialist, and the faucets manufacturer, oras. the two companies pooled their know-how in order to adapt the entire design to real market conditions. |
